Day 6 - Love Maui, but Holy Kauai

Day 6 – Saturday September 4 – By now I’ve totally lost track of the day and date. Today, at lunch Bob handed me a menu and said the hotel's sushi restaurant was only open Friday-Monday. I asked, “Will we be here any of those days?” His response wasn’t much better. “Ah, yeah! It’s Friday.”  I think that’s the sign of a good vacation.
Today we island-hopped from Maui to the beautiful island of Kauai and I must say – what an upgrade! Our resort the Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa is something out of a travel magazine. It’s simply stunning. Words can’t do the grounds and the resort justice. The meandering pool, the man made lagoon, the koi pond,  the luscious plants and stunning flowers not to mention the views! The resort is in Poipu along the southern coast of Kauai and at this point I’m doubting anything could be more beautiful.
We had a massage at the world-class Anara Spa this evening.  After each using the steam room, sauna and hot tubs we had a couple’s massage in a private and very secluded bungalow. It was 50 minutes of pure bliss and relaxation. Afterwards I took a shower in the lava shower while Bob showered in a shower with 12 heads. He hasn’t stopped talking about it since.
We then watched a show in the hotel lobby in which Bob was one of three men who was pulled out of the audience to learn to hula. What a show!  (Until I can get it posted on the blog, here's a link to watch the video.) After some overpriced sushi and dom kim that we had to ask for directions on how to eat, we played two horrendous games of pool and called it a night. It was 8:58pm when I last looked at the clock.
